Denton Event – "Trans Kids, Our Kids"
Please join us at the Denton, Texas stop of the TRANS KIDS, OUR KIDS book tour! Trans Kids, Our Kids: Stories and Resources from the Frontlines of the Movement for Transgender Youth is a new book that takes readers inside the movement for transgender youth, told through narratives that will open your eyes, break your heart, and give you hope.
The book is co-written by team members from the Campaign for Southern Equality, a leader in the work to protect trans youth and their families across the South and, through the Trans Youth Emergency Project, nationwide.
This very special event, hosted in partnership with First United Methodist Church of Denton, will include a reading from TRANS KIDS, OUR KIDS and a very special screening of Love to the Max, a documentary short featuring one of the families whose story is shared in Trans Kids, Our Kids. The event will also include a panel discussion that includes co-authors Alexis Stratton and Adam Polaski, and the Briggle Family; a Q&A focused on how you can take action; and a book signing.
Please RSVP for this free event – and, if you're able, add a donation that will directly support trans and queer youth. All proceeds from the sales of TRANS KIDS, OUR KIDS will support the Trans Youth Emergency Project, which helps families of trans youth navigate anti-transgender healthcare restrictions. Books will be available for purchase on-site at the event, or you can pre-order here.
